Brad is an amazing talent as a fellow wedding photographer, so he and Kelly knew they only wanted the best to capture their wedding day… so they came to us of course;) (Haha I kid, I kid!). They are an awesome couple and it was great to meet them and capture their wedding day for them.
It’s always fun and the ultimate compliment to photograph another “wedding photographer’s” wedding. Having a couple who is comfortable around massive cameras always makes for an epic shoot! They were keen to have beautiful photographs, so they made the time to make it happen.
Brad and Kelly were married at the beautiful Fig Tree Restaurant in the Byron Bay hinterland. We then ducked out around Byron Bay, down to the lighthouse, and quick stopover at the beach, and then back to the Fig Tree for their intimate reception.
(I’m a sucker for those party photos at the reception! These guys had so much fun and I had a great time photographing them doing so.)
Luke and Jessica were married at Belle Helena, a beautiful farm located in the Byron Bay hinterland surrounded by loved ones.
Perfect weather + chilled vibe + loads of vibrant smiles = an amazing day!
Luke and Jess wished to spend their day with their family and friends, so we took a quick stroll out onto the garden for a couple of photographs before heading back into the wedding Marquee to party the night away with their guests
The wedding dream team:
Byron Bay Weddings and Events – Jane styled the most divine setting for the wedding to take place in. Every detail was beautifully executed and helped to create such a magical atmosphere.
The catering by Fins was mouth wateringly amazing!
Their lovely celebrant was Zenith Virago.
The cute timber signs were lovingly created by Jess’ Dad!
Jonathan and Lilly were married in the beautiful Byron hinterland, at Peppers Coorabell Retreat. Jonathan and Lilly wanted a really intimate wedding surrounded by the people they love. And that’s what they had
Their wedding ceremony was so beautifully heartfelt (as you can see). It was a bit drizzly on the day, so we headed out for a quick photo shoot after the ceremony and headed back early to their reception to party!
Just like most weddings, Jonathan and Lilly’s was not without a drama or two. Their girlfriend who created their gorgeous wedding cake wrote her car off on the way to the wedding (she was ok!) but the cake was a little worse for ware- on arriving at the venue, she jumped in the kitchen and reworked the cake- and no one was any wiser. It looked beautiful!
Jonathan and Lilly it was a pleasure to be a part of your wedding day.
We had a lovely surprise a couple of weeks back when Kim and Nathalie contacted us after 3 years to let us know they love their photos, and had decided they wanted to get a wedding album:)
As Adam went through their images with them, there were so many they had forgotten about! Yes, they had a CD, but that really doesn’t compare with having an album you can cosy up on the couch and look through with your kids in 20 years time.
As I’ve been looking through their photos designing their album, I just can’t help but reminisce a little! Sooo here we go! It really was one of the most beautiful heart felt weddings we’ve ever attended. It was small and intimate. The people were gorgeous, the venue (The Fig Tree Restaurant) was just beautiful and for dinner, everyone sat together at a long table that stretched the room. Couple that with Byron Bay to play in for the wedding shoot how could any of it go wrong? (And it was a mid week wedding- they always seem so much more relaxed, I think because everyone is in holiday mode perhaps?)
You will see in the images below the amazing rain cloud that came over during the photo shoot. It absolutely poured at the venue while we were out taking photos- we didn’t see a drop of it!
And now for some pictures 2007 style:) (Lots of them!).
