So Dave and Kate you say? Yes, this is our third “Dave and Kate” couple we have photographed a wedding for- it seems the names are just made for each other. Somehow we didn’t notice until a few weeks ago, they also shared the same last name as one of our other favourite “Dave and Kate” couples which gave us a bit of a laugh!!!
So here we are, playing catch up again. Dave and Kate were married back in January, and we can’t wait to share some of their pretty pictures, but everything in order! First here are some of their beautiful engagement photos we took late last year on a warm summers afternoon on the Gold Coast. Dave’s gorgeous son stole the spotlight in a few photos too- what a cutie!
Fiona and Kate used to work together years ago at Photo Continental when Kate was still in high school, so it was so lovely to get the call to say she was getting married and wanted Deep Grey to photograph her wedding! Kate is such a sweetheart – it was an honour to photograph these two tie the knot!
There is something a bit special about family portraits at the beach! The Gold Coast coastline is stunning and the kids can run wild and free and splash their feet in the ocean.
A few years ago while in Fiji photographing a wedding, one of the hotel hosts was raving about how amazing their beach was at the hotel and how they were some of the best in the world… Adam and I looked at each other and thought, “they are ok….”. Chatting about it later we realised just how spoilt we are living in South East Queensland. Our beaches are incredible! We are so lucky to be able to photograph families in such beautiful surrounds. (Don’t get us wrong, venturing out of the resort to the un-commercialised Fijian beaches was ridiculously WOW! haha).
We ♥ the Spit, and we are glad this family had such a lovely time together having their family photos taken
You might recognise Matt and Annie from their crazy fun mountain engagement shoot a while back. They were married in the beautiful Latter-Day Saint Brisbane Australia temple on the Kangaroo Point cliffs and then headed down to Parkwood International for a ring ceremony and their reception, but not before sneaking away to the Spit to have some beautiful beach photos taken at sunset:)
Bianca contacted us with some exciting news- she had her husband were finally having their honeymoon! It had taken a couple of years to organise having little people in their lives, but they finally managed to organise their kid free holiday/honeymoon, and wanted to have some beautiful portraits taken, as they hadn’t had a wedding photographer.
Adam met Bianca and Simon at their hotel, and together they headed down to the beach to finally have some special photos taken of the two of them. They started off casual then Bianca changed into a beautiful gown for some more formal portraits. At first Bianca was a little dismayed at the weather (the wind was blowing a gale!) We think it worked out perfectly dreamy!
As you might remember,”The Best of Brisbane – Luxury Christmas Giveaway” winner will be announced tomorrow! Wheeee!
So if you have entered, keep your phones by your sides, as the photo call we will be making might just be for you:D
The last major giveaway we had was for Mothers Day last year. So I thought in anticipation of the big announcement tomorrow, I would share some from the winning family lovely portraits. (That dinosaur shot kills me!)
