This spunky whanau came to us wanting to capture some family portraits, and to also to have a gender reveal portrait taken- for those wondering what on earth a “gender reveal portrait” is, it’s basically a fun way to let your friends and family know the sex of your bub without just coming out and telling them straight up! So this time, it meant a photo of the family with a cute little bunch of balloons in a colour representative of bubs gender. Cute!
So Dave and Kate you say? Yes, this is our third “Dave and Kate” couple we have photographed a wedding for- it seems the names are just made for each other. Somehow we didn’t notice until a few weeks ago, they also shared the same last name as one of our other favourite “Dave and Kate” couples which gave us a bit of a laugh!!!
So here we are, playing catch up again. Dave and Kate were married back in January, and we can’t wait to share some of their pretty pictures, but everything in order! First here are some of their beautiful engagement photos we took late last year on a warm summers afternoon on the Gold Coast. Dave’s gorgeous son stole the spotlight in a few photos too- what a cutie!
Fiona and Kate used to work together years ago at Photo Continental when Kate was still in high school, so it was so lovely to get the call to say she was getting married and wanted Deep Grey to photograph her wedding! Kate is such a sweetheart – it was an honour to photograph these two tie the knot!
These two beautiful souls got married this morning, they are probably dancing right now, and getting ready to wrap up their reception and head out and have some bridal photographs taken! (We love that part!)
To celebrate their day of days, here are a few of their pretty engagement pictures!
I can’t wait for Adam to get home so I can check out some of their stunning wedding photos- and get stuck into designing their wedding album! We may even be on the ball and post a sneak peek or two, so family and friends, keep your eyes peeled on our Facebook page over the next few days!
One of my (Fiona’s) long time besties Jasmin has been living in New Zealand for the past 10 years or so- we usually get to catch up once a year for never quite long enough… so we decided when Jasmin visited this week, we would take some fun portraits together. (Well, Jasmin and I decided and just told Adam of course- thankfully he was obliging- albeit a little begrudgingly haha)
We were terrible clients, totally awkward, running late and not organising a baby sitter – so Adam was playing Dad and photographer all at the same time (You are amazing Adam!)
Grateful for this girl in my life. Always constant, always wise, lives with faith and always has a long winded story and a laugh to share haha. The best kind of friend (as Anne of Green Gables would say) “a kindred spirit”! ♥ you to the moon and back Princess Jasmin!
Here are a couple of photos of the little critters behind the scenes that Daddy shot over his shoulder. Grateful they were only slightly mischief and fairly well behaved while mummy had her photos taken Aren’t they adorable?!
And here is me and Jazzy when we were wee little 20yr olds – so stylish! Bless “Free Comic Book Day”. It was a really great day, we met a gorgeous little frenchman with a wonderful curly moustache and got a free comic book or two. Fabulous!
